Frequently Asked Questions

Go to Connection Settings → Authentication → SSH Key. You can either paste your private key or browse to select the key file. Termial supports RSA, Ed25519, and ECDSA keys. Your keys are stored securely in the encrypted vault.
Yes! All sensitive data including SSH credentials, passwords, and vault entries are encrypted using AES-256 encryption. When using cloud sync, your data is end-to-end encrypted — we cannot read your credentials.
Termial's AI assistant uses OpenAI's API to generate commands based on your natural language descriptions. Type what you want to do in plain English, and AI will suggest the appropriate terminal command. Your prompts are processed by OpenAI but not stored on our servers.
Absolutely! Termial works fully offline without an account. An account is only needed if you want to sync your settings and connections across multiple devices.
If you have cloud sync enabled, simply log in to your account on the new computer and your settings will sync automatically. Without cloud sync, you can export your settings from Preferences → Backup → Export Settings.
Termial is available for macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), Windows 10/11 (64-bit), and Linux (AppImage, .deb). All platforms have full feature parity.
